About TNPSC Group 2 Exam:

The TNPSC Group 2 exam is conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) to recruit candidates for various Group 2 and Group 2A positions in the Tamil Nadu state government. These positions are mainly under the Tamil Nadu government ministries, departments, and organizations.

TNPSC Group 2 Exam Types:

1.     TNPSC Group 2  –Requires Mains in descriptive type.

2.     TNPSC Group 2A– Involves mains exam in objective type.

TNPSC conducted the Group 2 Prelims exam for the year 2024 in 14th Sep 2024. Totally 7.9 lakhs students applied for the exam. And only 5 lakhs students attended the exam. More the 70% candidates attended the exam.

Positions in TNPSC Group 2:

Here are some examples of Group 2 posting included in the TNPSC. But they are not limited to only these postings.

  • Deputy Commercial Tax Officer
  • Sub-Registrar
  • Assistant Section Officer
  • Revenue Assistant
  • Municipal Commissioner
  • Assistant Inspector of Labour
  • Executive Officer, Grade-II
  • Senior Inspector of Co-operative Societies, and many more.

Prelims Syllabus Highlights:

  • General Studies:
    • Indian History, Indian Polity, Geography of India and Tamil Nadu
    • Indian Economy, Science, and Technology
    • Current Events, Environmental Issues
    • Indian National Movement
  • Aptitude & Mental Ability:
    • Logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, data interpretation, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • General Tamil/General English:

For Group 2 and Group 2 A we may choose either General Tamil or General English

    • Language skills based on grammar, comprehension, and writing abilities.

 

Answer Key:

They released the conditional answer key in the  sanctioned website in the last week of September 2024. After the  primary  test, the TNPSC releases the Group 2 conditional( provisional) answer  crucial and invites  expostulations to the wrong answers    

After releasing the Functionary Answer  crucial commission will give you a week of time to give  expostulation to the wrong answer. If we've any  expostulation we've to submit the  expostulation with the source of the book name and details of the book. 

After checking with the official answer key we may start to prepare for the mains exam. If we reach the cut off then we can start to prepare for mains exam. Because once prelims result announced the time limit for the mains exam will be less. So after checking the official we can start to prepare for mains.

Prelims Exam Result: 

The results for the group 2 prelims is anticipated to be on December 2024. After that they will conduct the mains  test for Group 2 and Group 2 A independently. For Group 2 mains will be in descriptive type. And for Group 2 A mains will be in objective type. 

Mains Exam Date:

Mains will be expected to be conducted on Feb 2025. Mains exam will be conduct in two different ways. For Group 2 it will be Descriptive type. And for Group2 A it will be in objective type like prelims. And also now they have cancelled the interview for the Group 2 Postings. It will be an added advantages to the candidates who are all preparing for competitive exams.

Results:

We can check the results on TNPSC  sanctioned website after the results has been released. This prelims result is only to qualify for the mains. They wo n't consider this marks for the selection of the post while comforting. Indeed though it is n't consider for selection it's important to attend the mains it's the measuring scale whether you're eligible for Group 2 or Group 2 A. Grounded on the marks in the prelims only they will choose the  campaigners for Group 2 and Group 2 A.

The marks obtaining in the mains exam will only be considering for the posting in both Group 2 and Group A exams. They conduct both exam separately. If we secure  further marks in the prelims we're eligible to attend both examinations if not like if we got the cut off marks but if it's  lower  also we're eligible only for Group 2 A

To check the result we have to go to the official website and go to the result page and we have to check the name of the exam we need to check the result. For ex. If we want to check the Group 2 exam result we have check the exam name COMBINED CIVIL SERVICES EXAMINATION –II (IN GROUP II AND GROUP II A SERVICES) and then click on the results to know your results.
